Ghaziabad: Ghaziabad City Kotwali police have arrested Shatir and his two accomplices who cheated themselves in the name of making Agniveer, army, paramilitary forces and railway jobs by pretending to be RAW agents. Fake I-card, laptop, mobile and many documents of the squadron leader of the Air Force have been recovered from them. The caught vicious people have so far cheated about 25 lakhs from many people.
Fake cards of lieutenant colonel and squadron leader recovered
Ghaziabad Police Commissionerate’s DCP City Nipun Agarwal said that the arrested people include accused West Bengal resident Aniket Dutta and his accomplices Mukul Verma and Abhishek Sharma. Aniket currently lives in Nangloi, New Delhi, while Mukul Verma is a resident of Sihani Gate and Jatwada of Abhishek Nagar Kotwali. The police have recovered a fake card, a laptop and three mobile phones of an army lieutenant colonel and squadron leader of the Air Force in the name of Aniket. Aniket is a graduate in Psychology, while both his companions Mukul and Abhishek are B.Sc.
Raw agent used to tell Aniket from both fellow unemployed
Police inquiry has revealed that Aniket was living in Delhi-NCR by changing his address. He had also opened fake bank accounts to receive the cheated amount. He has been active in this work for a long time. Both the companions used to introduce him to people. Aniket used to meet by calling himself a RAW agent and used to promise to get a job. After being trapped, Mukul used to give all the fake documents including the joining letter, due to which people used to get trust and give money.
Police became active after the FIR of cheating
The special thing is that the accused had also created an email ID in the name of the army, so that people do not have any kind of doubt. The police came to know about Aniket after a complaint a few days back. Ravipal of New Panchavati had lodged an FIR for cheating of Rs 3.40 lakh in the name of getting a job in the army. After this, the police traced the location of the accused and his associates on the basis of their mobile numbers and arrested them. After interrogating these people, the police is also inquiring about their other associates.
