UP Dial 112 Protest: Women employees on contract in the emergency number dial 112 service in Uttar Pradesh continued protesting with their demands in the capital Lucknow on Tuesday. After noon the protesting women decided to present their demands before the Chief Minister. After this the women started going towards the CM residence. But, the police stopped them. When the protesting women did not agree, they were taken into custody and sent to the Echo Gordon protest site. During this, the women workers accused the police of misbehaving with them. She said that she wanted to go to the Chief Minister’s residence peacefully. But, he was not allowed to go and was forcibly put on a bus to Echo Gordon.

Protest over demand for salary increase and offer letter
In fact, the women employees had created a ruckus on Monday outside Dial 112 located at Shaheed Path in the capital. They continued the protest the whole night. The women workers did not back down from their demands even after persuasion by the police officers. The employees were demanding increase in salary and offer letter. The women employees alleged that their salaries were not increased even once in four years. He has demanded that his salary should be increased before the Diwali festival. Also they should be given offer letter. Due to the protest by women employees, the work of Dial 112 has also been affected.
Women employees told that we all work 9 hours a day, but we get only Rs 12 thousand as salary. Salary has not increased for four years. While listening to the calls of people coming from 75 districts. After that they provide police help. Demands to increase salary were made several times, but no hearing took place. Apart from this, we are working here. But, even the offer letter has not been received. In such a situation, everyone’s demand is that our salary should be increased to 18 thousand before the festival. Offer letter should also be given.

On the other hand, in this case, the police has said that no call taker is being removed. According to the rules of UP government, call takers are considered as skilled labour. Apart from this, due to new rules and the honorarium of every call taker in the new company is also being increased.
