Mafia Mukhtar Ansari gets relief from Varanasi court, stay on sentence in threat case in Rungta case
Mafia Mukhtar Ansari has got a big relief from the court of District Judge of Varanasi in the case of threat to Rungta family. The court of in-charge District Judge Anutosh Kumar Sharma heard the appeal filed against the sentence. The court has issued a notice to the opposition, staying the sentence. The court has fixed January 29 for the next hearing. It is noteworthy that on December 15, 2023, the court of ACJM I/MP-MLA Ujjwal Upadhyay had found Mukhtar Ansari guilty in the case and sentenced him to five and a half years’ imprisonment. The court had also imposed a fine. The accused’s advocate Srinath Tripathi has filed an appeal in the Sessions Court against this order. According to the case, after the kidnapping of coal businessman Nand Kishore Rungta, his family members were threatened with bomb blasts if they argued the case related to him. In this case, his brother Mahavir Prasad Rungta had filed a case in Bhelupur police station on November 5, 1997.
