UP Board uses a grading system (A1 being the highest and E2 being the lowest) to evaluate the performance of students in each subject. To pass the exam, students must obtain at least 33% marks in both their overall marks and each individual subject.

B2: 61 – 70
C1: 51 – 60
C2: 41 – 50
D: 33 – 40

Passing Criteria and Minimum Marks Required
Awaiting the release of UP Board Class 12th Result for 2024, students are eager to understand the prerequisites for success. As per the guidelines of UP Board, it is mandatory for students to score minimum 33 percent marks in each subject to pass. This requirement is to obtain at least 33 marks out of 100 in each subject. Failure to meet this criteria in any subject will entail appearing in the compartment examination, the dates of which will be announced along with the results.

Uttar Pradesh Secondary Education Council (UPMSP) conducts compartment exams for students who fail in one or two subjects in their board exams. The exact schedule of these examinations will be announced on the official website of UPMSP, but they are tentatively planned for July 2024. Students should note that compartment examination is available only to those students who have failed in maximum two subjects. If you fail more than two subjects, you will have to retake the entire exam the following year.
