UP ATS arrested two Bangladeshi citizens in Saharanpur, recovered fake identity cards, know how they crossed the border

Both the arrested accused have been identified as Habibullah Misbah and Ahmadullah alias Abdul Awal. Habibullah and Abdul are originally from Bangladesh, but these people were living in Saharanpur, UP.

In fact, ATS had also received information about their involvement in anti-national activities. Acting on this, the ATS arrested both the accused from Deoband in Saharanpur on Wednesday. Mobile, SIM card, photo copy of Aadhaar card, photocopy of Passport Seva Kendra receipt, affidavit, ration card, Bangladesh passport, Indian Voter ID, Fino Bank passbook, Dutch Bangla Bank passbook, birth certificate made from Assam, PAN card and many documents including cash have been recovered from them. A case has been registered against him in Deoband police station and he has been sent to jail.

At the same time, the arrested accused told in ATS interrogation that they are Bangladeshi citizens and have come here after crossing the border illegally. He told that at the address of Dakshin Dinajpur, West Bengal, he got forged Indian documents prepared illegally and was living secretly in India. Habibullah has applied for getting his Indian passport on the basis of forged Indian documents.

On the other hand, when asked about the jailed Bangladeshi accused Shahadat Hussain, Ahmadullah told that he knows Shahadat Hussain very well, Shahadat is also a resident of Bangladesh and was living illegally in India. Rohingyas and Bangladeshi citizens have established a large network in the districts of West UP including Meerut, Aligarh, Bulandshahr and Deoband.

This can be gauged from the arrests made in the last two years. In two years, more than 21 suspects have been arrested from West UP. Most of them illegally crossed the border and entered India. After this, by making Indian documents, he took the citizenship of this place. This has been revealed after the arrest of two Bangladeshis from Deoband on Thursday. On the other hand, seeing the increasing number of Bangladeshi citizens in UP, the concern of security agencies has also increased.

These people were arrested from Saharanpur in 11 years

  • In the year 2001, Mufti Israr was arrested from Saharanpur Madrasa due to terrorist activities.

  • In the year 2005, Irfan, an accused in the bomb blast case in Ayodhya, also went to Deoband.

  • In the year 2009, Aamir Ahmed alias Bura, an agent of Pakistani agency ISI, was arrested.

  • In the year 2010, Pakistani spy Shahid alias Iqbal Bhatti was arrested by the Patiala Police from Hakikat Nagar. Iqbal Bhatt was living here in the name of Devraj Sehgal.

  • A suspected Bangladeshi was arrested on 14 March 2021. Bangladeshi Tanveer and his father Umar Mohammad were arrested from Nadeem Colony of Saharanpur.

  • Kolkata Police and ATS have arrested a Bangladeshi from Saharanpur. The arrested suspect is said to have links with Al Qaeda’s branch organization AQIS (Al Qaeda in the Indian Subcontinent). The name of the suspect is Faizal Ahmed alias Shahid Mazumdar. He is a resident of Malda, Bangladesh.

  • On 28 April 2022, Bangladeshi Talha was arrested from Deoband. Talha’s fake Aadhar card, PAN card were recovered.
