Lucknow : The Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorism Squad Team (UP ATS) has arrested Firdous, the trainer of suspected Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist Ahmed Raza, from Anantnag in Jammu and Kashmir. Firdaus, a terrorist associated with Pir Panjal Tanjim, had trained Ahmed Raza with modern weapons in the jungles of Jammu and Kashmir. ATS had arrested Firdaus on the information of Ahmad Raza on Thursday itself. UP ATS brought Firdaus on transit remand on Saturday and produced him in the special court in Lucknow. On the application of ATS, the court has approved the police remand of Firdaus for 14 days. The remand period will start from 10 am on Sunday morning.
During interrogation of ATS, Firdaus told that he used to talk to Pak handlers through internet calls. He has talked to Pakistan handler Ehsan Ghazi several times through internet calling. He told that youths were asked to run a campaign to incite them for Jihad. Ahmed Raza is in ATS remand and he is being interrogated. His remand period is till 6 pm on August 17. ATS will make Firdaus face to face with Ahmed Raza on Sunday. So that the terrorists spread in UP and surrounding states related to them can be caught.
Apart from Mumbai and Deoband, many connections came to the fore.
ATS sources say that Ahmed Raza and Firdous have come in contact with some youths in Mumbai, Deoband and many other states. Ahmed Raza was arrested on Thursday and a case was registered against him under serious sections. In this case, ATS has also shown the arrest of Firdaus. Firdous was about to receive a consignment of arms from Pakistan. It is feared that apart from Ahmed Raza, Firdaus had given training to some other youths to use weapons.
The purpose of implementing Sharia in India
Ahmed Raza alias Shahrukh was planning a major terrorist incident in India by going to Afghanistan via Pakistan and taking training of terrorist commandos. Many Jihadi videos have been found from his mobile phone. Along with this, inputs of conversation with many suspicious numbers have been received from his mobile. He considered implementing Sharia in India as the purpose of his life. Apart from UP ATS, teams from Central Intelligence Agency, Gujarat, Maharashtra and Telangana will also interrogate Ahmad Raza.
