Union Minister Arjun Munda will make these three initiatives for change in the agriculture sector, farmers will get benefits like this

Shachindra Kumar Dash, Seraikela-Kharsawan: Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India is going to take three important initiatives on 8th February to bring revolutionary changes in the agriculture sector. Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare cum Tribal Welfare Minister Arjun Munda under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) centralized “Kisan Rakshak Helpline 14447 and Portal”, Agri-Insurance Sandbox Framework Platform SARTHI (SARTHI) and Learning Management System for the Farming Community ( Are going to launch LMS) platform.

Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare and Food Processing Shobha Karandlaje and Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Kailash Chaudhary will also be present in the program. This initiative will be an important step towards enhancing the welfare and sustainability of the farming community through digital innovation and comprehensive risk protection solutions. The Learning Management System in collaboration with the National E-Governance Division will provide training and knowledge sharing in the agriculture sector. Apart from this, it will also address the challenges of implementing major agricultural schemes and facilitate continuous learning and coordination among stakeholders.

Similarly, the Government of India has developed a centralized “Kisan Rakshak Helpline and Portal” under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana. Now all the farmers enrolled under this scheme can call the central helpline number 14447 for crop insurance and registering complaints. This will ensure timely support and transparent communication. Going beyond traditional crop insurance, Government of India has developed SARATHI – a comprehensive insurance platform. SARTHI offers a range of insurance products to meet the diverse needs of the farming community, ranging from health and life insurance to coverage for farm equipment and more.

This initiative is in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The government aims to establish a strong agricultural insurance to ensure comprehensive risk protection and support to the farmers of the country by introducing new technologies like Yes Tech, Digiclaim, Winds, Cropik, Ad App throughout the year. The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare believes that this initiative will write a new chapter in the agriculture sector of the country and will bring positive changes in the lives and livelihood of farmers.
