Bokaro, Ranjit Kumar: Bokaro court on Monday sentenced an uncle guilty of kidnapping and raping a minor niece to 20 years imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 15,000. This matter is of 2022. An FIR was registered in this regard under the POCSO Act at Harla police station. After the incident, the police raided and arrested the accused uncle.

Rajeev Ranjan’s court (POCSO Special Court) on Monday sentenced the uncle guilty of kidnapping and rape of a 15-year-old minor to seven years and 20 years imprisonment under different sections. Along with this, a total of 15 people were convicted in the kidnapping and rape case. A fine of Rs 1,000 has been imposed and the accused will have to undergo additional punishment under different sections.

Special Public Prosecutor Virendra Kumar presented the prosecution case in the court on behalf of the government. He told that the incident took place in Harla police station area on the night of 15 December 2022. The guilty uncle had disappeared from home with his minor niece. After investigation at his level, the father of the kidnapped minor had complained about this in Harla police station. On the basis of the complaint, an FIR for kidnapping was registered under the POCSO Act at Harla police station on January 23, 2023. After this the police started investigation.

The minor had talked about rape in the statement
Due to the raid of Harla police, the guilty uncle came to Bokaro with his minor niece after a few days. The police arrested the culprit and sent him to jail in judicial custody. The statement of the minor was recorded in the court. In the statement, the minor had told about raping her in a closed room. After this fact came to light, the police completed the investigation on the issue of kidnapping and rape. Presented concrete witnesses and evidence while submitting the charge sheet in the court. On the basis of this, the court gave its verdict declaring the accused uncle guilty.
