Lucknow. The Uttar Pradesh government does not want to show any mercy to gangster-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed. The Uttar Pradesh Police seems determined to punish the mafia for each of its crimes. Preparations have been made to transfer Mafia Atiq Ahmed from Sabarmati Jail in Gujarat to Tihar Jail in Delhi. Atiq has been kept in Ahmedabad jail on the orders of the Supreme Court, due to which the Prayagraj police will file an application in the Supreme Court. The Home Department on Tuesday suspended the Superintendent of Naini Jail of Bareilly, Banda and Prayagraj and has also given a strong message to the helpers of the mafia and his brother former MLA Ashraf sitting in the administration.
Shaista Parveen absconding for 25 days, BSP cut her ticket
Raids are on to arrest Shaista Parveen, wife of absconding Atiq Ahmed in the Umesh Pal murder case. The BSP has also withdrawn its decision to declare Shaista Parveen as the mayoral candidate from Prayagraj. In a meeting presided over by BSP supremo Mayawati regarding the civic body elections, the party has sought fresh applications to declare the candidate for mayor from Prayagraj. Sources say that more than a dozen BSPs have informed the party about their interest in becoming the mayor’s candidate.

Atiq Ahmed Gujarat and his brother are lodged in Bareilly jail. His office in Dhumalganj area of Prayagraj has been destroyed. Action has been taken on brother-in-law Akhlaq and many other helpers, even after this, the police could not catch Shaista Parveen, so the officers’ mind has gone towards the closest and special sharp shooter of the mafia, Zulfikar alias Tota. If sources are to be believed, Toja, who did murder and extortion for Atiq, is now working for Shaista. It is feared that if Shaista is not caught soon, she may emerge as a mafia don.
