Twitter (which is now X Corp) had moved the High Court against several restrictive orders of the ministry. The single judge bench had dismissed the petition and imposed a fine of Rs 50 lakh for coming to the court without complying with the ministry’s order.

The company appealed before the division bench which in an earlier hearing had directed it to deposit Rs 25 lakh. The bench also directed Twitter to file material to show that it has complied with the orders.
