TVS Apache RTR 310 Naked Sport launched, will compete with KTM 390 Duke

New Delhi : TVS Motor Company has launched its flagship streetfighter motorcycle Apache RTR 310 with much fanfare. Making its global debut in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand, the price of the new TVS Apache RTR 310 has been set from Rs 2.43 lakh to Rs 2.64 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom India. The Apache RTR 310 gets several segment-first features while drawing power from the familiar engine shared with the Apache RR 310. Pre-bookings for the Apache RTR 310 are already open. In the bike market it will compete with KTM 390 Duke.

TVS Apache RTR 310: Design

The new TVS Apache RTR 310 has aggressive styling with dynamic twin LED headlamps, LED DRL. The motorcycle also gets dynamic rear LED brake lighting along with split LED taillight. The motorcycle gets a sharply styled fuel tank with shrouds, a two-piece seat and a raised tail section. The riding posture seems a bit stooped, but becomes fairly upright with the wide handlebar.

TVS Apache RTR 310: Features

The new TVS Apache RTR 310 has features like cruise control, 5 ride modes, twin LED headlamps, 5-inch TFT instrument cluster, climate control seat and race tuned dynamic stability control (RT-DSC). The motorcycle will also come with cornering ABS as well as switchable slope-dependent control. Front wheel lift off control will also be available in TVS Apache RTR 310.

TVS Apache RTR 310 : Suspension

The Apache RTR 310 will come with a bi-directional quickshifter, race-tuned linear stability control, a trellis frame with a lightweight aluminum subframe and a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS). The motorcycle will also be offered with customization options under the brand’s Build to Order (BTO) platform. The dynamic kit will include an adjustable suspension, TPMS and brass-coated drive chain, which will cost an additional Rs 18,000. At the same time, RT-DSC and climate control seat will be available in Dynamic Pro Kit, which costs Rs 22,000. There will also be a new Sepang Blue color scheme with TVS racing livery on the BTO bike for an additional Rs 10,000.

TVS Apache RTR 310 : Engine

Power will come from a 312.12 cc single-cylinder engine, which is tuned to produce 35.1 bhp at 9,700 rpm and 28.7 Nm of peak torque at 6,650 rpm and is paired with a 6-speed gearbox. 0-60 kmph is achieved in 2.81 seconds and the maximum speed is 150 kmph. The bike gets KYB-sourced USD front forks with 30 percent compression and rebound damping. The rear gets a monoshock with 30 percent pre-load rebound damping. The bike will run on dual compound radial tyres. Traction control and cornering cruise control are also available in the bike.

Will compete with KTM Duke 390

Let us tell you that TVS Apache RTR 310 will compete with KTM Duke 390 in the bike market. Price of KTM Duke 390 starts at Rs 2.96 lakh (ex-showroom), ex-showroom India. KTM Duke 390 bike comes in only one variant BS6. The motorcycle is built on a split-trellis frame (tubular). It has a single cylinder liquid cooled DOHC fuel injection (FI) engine of 373.27 cc, which generates power of 43.5 PS and torque of 37 Nm. Its curb weight is 171 kg and its fuel tank capacity is 13.4 liters.

KTM Duke 390 Suspension and Brakes

The sports naked bike gets 43 mm diameter WP Apex USD fork suspension at the front, while on the rear side it gets 10-step adjustable WP Apex monoshock suspension. For braking, it has 320 mm disc brakes with radially mounted calipers on the front wheel. Whereas, on the rear side, it gets 230 mm disc brakes with floating calipers.

Features and competition of KTM Duke 390

Features like full split LED headlamp, quickshifter plus, super moto ABS, TFT dash display, digital instrument console, split seat, digital clock, low fuel indicator, low battery indicator, LED headlight and taillight, LED turn signal lamp were given in this bike.
