‘Trust test’ before ‘floor test’ in Bihar, all parties ‘safe’ their respective MLAs

Patna. After the formation of the new government in the state, the floor test is to be held on 12th February. Before this, all the political parties are uniting their MLAs and giving the message that everything is fine with them. On Saturday, Janata Dal United (JDU) arranged a banquet for its MLAs. A meeting of JDU legislature party has been called at the residence of Parliamentary Affairs Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary on Sunday.

On the other hand, BJP MLAs are gathered in Bodh Gaya to participate in the training program. On Saturday itself, RJD also called a meeting of MLAs at Tejashwi’s residence. Congress MLAs are already stationed in Hyderabad. On Monday, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will present the vote of confidence amid tight security in the Assembly. Minister Shravan Kumar has claimed that the government will seek the vote of trust. Meanwhile, all the parties have issued whips asking the MLAs to be present in the House on February 12.

Grand alliance meeting held at Tejashwi’s residence, MLAs stayed here overnight

On the other hand, to save the Speaker’s chair and vote unitedly against the trust vote of the new government, RJD and Left MLAs met on Saturday at the house of former Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav. This meeting continued till late Saturday evening. Sources said that after the meeting, all the MLAs have been asked to stay at Tejashwi’s residence only. Now he will remain in Tejashwi Yadav’s residence till the day of floor test i.e. Monday morning. The belongings of all the MLAs were gradually delivered to Tejashwi Yadav’s residence. The MLAs have ordered blankets, clothes and medicines from their respective homes. Also, the security of the residence has been increased.

Mobiles of all MLAs switched off

The mobiles of all the MLAs have been switched off. RJD has claimed that all its MLAs are united. However, two MLAs Kumar Sarvjit and Neelam Devi could not attend the meeting. Both of them stated that the reason for not coming was illness. It is known that before the confidence vote of the new NDA government is presented on February 12, there will be a discussion on the no-confidence motion against the current speaker, Awadh Bihari Choudhary of RJD. The Chief Minister will need the support of more than 122 MLAs in the House to get the trust vote. At present, 128 MLAs are united in favor of NDA in the House with the support of four MLAs from Manjhi’s party.

JDU MLAs attended the banquet at Shravan Kumar’s place

On Saturday, an afternoon banquet was arranged for JDU MLAs at the residence of Minister Shravan Kumar. During this, all the JDU MLAs were seen united. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar also reached there for some time. Apart from the MLAs, all the MLCs and other leaders of the party were present in this banquet. Everyone said in one voice that the government will prove majority in the Assembly on 12 February.

BJP MLAs will reach the House directly from Gaya on Monday

The party has claimed that all the MLAs are present there. In the two-day training camp of BJP MLAs and MLCs starting from Saturday in Bodh Gaya, BJP State President cum Deputy CM Samrat Chaudhary said that this training camp is about the preparation for the Lok Sabha elections to be held in 2024. It was already decided that the camp would be organized on 5th and 6th February, but due to some reason it was shifted to 10th and 11th February. He said that former CM Jitan Ram Manjhi has clearly said that he is with NDA. In Bihar, two parties i.e. BJP and JDU have 123 MLAs. Has the support of Manjhi. On the question of floor test, he said that all the MLAs are united.

Congress MLAs will come from Hyderabad today

19 Congress MLAs camping in Hyderabad will reach Patna by chartered plane late on Sunday evening. To save them from any possible breakdown, Congress MLAs were first called to Delhi and then directly to Hyderabad. At present, Congress MLAs are stuck in Hyderabad for five days.

CPI(ML) leader Mehboob Alam met Manjhi

CPI(ML) Legislature Party leader Mehboob Alam met former CM Jitan Ram Manjhi on Saturday, two days before the start of the budget session. After the meeting, both the leaders said that there was nothing political in the meeting. Mehboob Alam said that Manjhi is our guardian, a senior leader. We keep meeting them regularly. His health has not been good for some time. So I came to meet him and was happy to see that he is fine now. We are 100 percent with Manjhi’s decision to remain with the NDA and the Nitish Kumar-led government in the state.
