Both are currently serving their judicial custody in Tihar Jail. Now, both have come under the scanner in connection with the recovery of a huge quantity of explosives in Mohammad Bazar area of Birbhum. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is investigating the case. According to sources, as part of the investigation of this case, NIA had applied to the Bankshall Court for permission to go to Tihar Jail and interrogate Saigal Hussain, which has been approved by the court.
NIA officers will interrogate Saigal in Tihar Jail
It is being told that in the first week of December, NIA officials can interrogate in Tihar Jail. Only after this will the NIA move towards the process of interrogating Mandal in jail. It is noteworthy that in June last year i.e. in the year 2022, 81 thousand gelatin sticks and electric detonator were seized from a vehicle in Mohammadbazar area of Birbhum.

Later, after interrogating the accused driver, a stock of illegally stored explosives including about 27 thousand kilograms of ammonium nitrate, 1625 gelatin sticks and 2,325 electric detonators was found. Earlier the case was being investigated by the state police. NIA started investigating the case in September last year. It is being told that the names of Saigal and Mandal have been revealed during the interrogation of the accused and this is the reason why NIA officials want to interrogate them.
