Trinamool Congress once again seeks permission from Delhi Police to protest against stopping of MNREGA funds.

Trinamool Congress has again written a fresh letter to Delhi Police demanding demonstrations at three places in the national capital in early October against the alleged stopping of funds given under the Rural Employment Scheme for West Bengal by the Central Government. written. TMC MP Derek O’Brien has written a letter to Delhi Police seeking permission to make arrangements for 50,000 MNREGA workers from West Bengal to stay at Ram Leela Maidan from September 30 to October 4. Trinamool had earlier also sought permission for the demonstration

Referring to the letters dated 30th and 31st August, Derek wrote that MNREGA (100 day action plan) workers of West Bengal will stage a sit-in in various areas of Delhi from 30th September to 4th October. On that occasion, Trinamool wants to make arrangements for accommodation of about 50 thousand people in Ramlila Maidan. Derek told in the letter that no reply had been received to the previous letter in this regard.

Abhishek Banerjee had called for ‘Dilli Chalo’ from the Martyr’s Day stage.

O’Brien, in the letters, has requested the Delhi Police to allow the Trinamool Congress to stage a sit-in outside Jantar Mantar, Krishi Bhawan and the minister’s residence from 10 am to 6 pm on October 2 and 3, in which the state of West Bengal Workers will also be included, who were allegedly deprived of wages under the MNREGA scheme.
