TRAI Report: Number of telecom customers increased to 117.39 crore, know how many Jio and Airtel added

TRAI Telecom Consumers Report – The number of telecom subscribers in the country increased marginally to 117.39 crore in June on a monthly basis. With the increase in the number of new customers of telecom company Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel, the total customers have increased. Telecom regulator TRAI has given this information.

The number of customers using mobile phones has increased. Reliance Jio added 22.7 lakh new customers, while Bharat Airtel’s customer base increased by 14 lakh.

Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) said in its monthly report, the number of telephone subscribers in the country increased by 0.11 percent on a monthly basis to reach 117.39 crore in June this year, which was 117.26 crore in May.

However, the benefit of the increase that has been achieved could not be reaped due to the decrease in the number of customers of public sector BSNL, MTNL and private company Vodafone Idea.

As per the data, BSNL lost 18.7 lakh mobile customers, Vodafone Idea 12.8 lakh and MTNL 1.53 lakh. Purely, the number of wireless subscribers increased by 3,73,602 in the month of June.

TRAI said, the number of wireless subscribers increased by 0.03 percent to 114.36 crore in June this year from 114.32 crore in May. The number of wireline connections increased in June after a slight decline in May.

In the wireline sector, APFPL added 6,56,424 new connections. Reliance Jio added 2,08,014 connections, Bharti Airtel 1,34,021, V Con Mobile & Infra 13,100, Tata Teleservices 12,617 and Quadrant 6,540.

The number of broadband subscribers increased by 0.54 percent on a monthly basis to 86.15 crore in June this year from 85.68 crore in May.
