Traffic police stations will be opened in 28 districts of Bihar, 4715 posts will be appointed, know details

In order to open traffic police stations in 28 districts of Bihar, the Bihar Police Headquarters has sent a proposal to the state government to create 4215 new posts. Presently 15 traffic police stations are functioning in 12 districts including Patna. With the opening of 28 new traffic stations, the system of dedicated police force for traffic control in all the 40 police districts will be completed. ADG (Headquarters) of Bihar Police JS Gangwar said that the strength of 165 traffic police personnel will be created in 22 out of 28 big districts. At the same time, there will be a strength of 85-85 policemen in five small districts. In these, posts ranging from DSP and Inspector to Inspector and Constable will be included.

At present 15 traffic police stations are running in 12 districts.

The ADG said that a new guideline has been sent to the districts regarding the operation of the traffic stations and the policemen posted in them. Under this, traffic policemen will not be posted in any district for more than three years. They will not get posting even in their home district. One-third women will be kept in the traffic police force. The policemen joining this force will first be given training. Then only those policemen who pass the screening test will be deployed in traffic.

Traffic station was started from Patna in 1980

JS Gangwar told that in Bihar in 1980 a separate system was started regarding traffic from Patna. In this the force was increased first in 2008 and then in 2012. In 2013, Bihar’s second traffic police station opened in Bhagalpur after Patna. Then in 2014, the traffic police station with 280 police force was approved in Gaya. Till 2018, traffic police stations have been opened in total 12 districts including Muzaffarpur, Nalanda, Purnia, Bhojpur and Saran. A total of 2750 policemen are deployed in these traffic stations.
