Tota of applications in CM Medha scholarship, one and a half lakh less than the target, till now the date has been extended thrice

Students are not submitting applications for CM Medha Scholarship in Jharkhand. Applications are being collected for the last three months, even after this about 1.5 lakh less applications have been submitted than the target. Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) has extended the date of submission of application three times till now. July 18 was the last date to submit the form, which can be extended again.

Till now about 50 thousand applications have been submitted, while the target of submission of applications is two lakh. To appear in the CM Medha scholarship exam, it is mandatory for the student to pass the seventh examination with 55% marks. Every year about 5.50 lakh students pass the seventh examination in the state. Out of these, the target is to submit applications of two lakh students. So far this year, fewer applications have been submitted than last year. Last year 75 thousand students submitted applications.

12 thousand rupees are available for four years

Five thousand students are selected every year for CM Medha scholarship. Students studying in Class VII pass and Class VIII appear in the examination. A student who is successful in the scholarship test gets a scholarship of Rs 12,000 per year for studies from class 9th to 12th.

Less than one thousand applications in six districts

Less than one thousand applications have been submitted from six districts of the state. Of these, 479 applications have been submitted from Gumla, 517 from Garhwa, 845 from Bokaro, 880 from Chatra, 908 from Simdega and 942 from Khunti. Maximum 4647 applications have been submitted in the state from West Singhbhum district, while 4445 applications have been submitted from East Singhbhum, 3915 from Ranchi and 3408 from Sahibganj.
