Three kilos of jewelery found from the premises of Singhania Group, documents are being examined.

Ranchi: During the ongoing raid on the premises of Singhania Group, three kilos of jewelery has also been found. Its evaluation work is going on. Also, the documents found from the premises of Singhania Group are being investigated. The team of Income Tax officials is also interrogating the people related to the group on the basis of the documents found in the raid. The Income Tax Investigation Branch had started raids on December 19 at a total of 29 locations of pan-masala trader Jaiprakash Singhania and people associated with the group in Jharkhand, Bihar, Bengal and Madhya Pradesh.

40 lakh cash found

During the raid, Rs 40 lakh in cash was recovered from the premises belonging to the group. The raids continued on Wednesday also. After the ban on Gutkha in Jharkhand, Singhania Group has forayed into business areas other than pan-masala. About two years ago this group entered the real estate business. Apart from this, work has also been started in the field of mushroom and other agricultural products. This group is suspected to be investing the money from the raw pan-masala business in real estate. Besides, the purpose of entering into the field of agricultural products is also said to be to avoid tax.
