Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has come to India with his wife Akshata Murthy to attend the G20 summit. He (Sunak) reached Akshardham temple on Sunday morning and offered prayers. Police officials said that security was tightened in and around the temple.
A senior police officer said that barricades had already been put up in the area, and investigation was being done in view of the G20 summit. He said that adequate number of security personnel were deployed for the visit of the British Prime Minister. It is noteworthy that PM Modi met Sunak on the sidelines of the G20 summit on Saturday and discussed ways to deepen trade relations and promote investment.
Multi-layered security arrangements have been made around Pragati Maidan area in Central Delhi. The summit is being organized at this place. Vehicles are being checked rapidly in New Delhi and border areas.
