Hyundai Ioniq 5 Wins ICOTY 2024 Award: The results of the Indian Car of the Year 2024 (ICOTY 2024) Award are out. South Korean company Hyundai Ioniq 5 car has won this award. Among these cars, Hyundai Ioniq 5 has succeeded in establishing itself among the SUV cars of India by winning the hearts of the jury of ICOTY. In India, Hyundai Ioniq 5 car competes with BMW i7, Mercedes-Benz EQI, Volvo C20 Recharge, BYD Atto3, Mahindra XUV400, Citroen EC3 and MG Comet. In this award, BMW i7 got second place and MG Comet got third place.

Hyundai Ioniq 5 was showcased at Auto Expo 2023

The Hyundai Ioniq 5 was first showcased in India earlier this year at the Auto Expo 2023. It is equipped with a 72.6 kWh battery pack unit, which is mated to the sole electric motor mounted on the rear XL of the crossover. Ionic 5 has a claimed mileage of 631 km. The engine of this car is capable of generating power of 216 bhp and torque of 350 Nm.

Hyundai Ioniq crosses 1000 units sales mark

Hyundai Ioniq 5 Electric has crossed the sales mark of 1,000 units in the Indian car market. The ex-showroom price of Hyundai Ionic 5 has been kept at Rs 45.95 lakh. The Ioniq 5 is available only in a rear wheel drive variant. This is a 5 seater car, in which five passengers can sit.

Hyundai Ioniq’s battery, motor and range

Hyundai Ionic 5 car has a single motor with 72.6 kWh battery pack, which generates power of 217 PS and torque of 350 Nm. It is a rear-wheel-drive car. The certified range on full charge is 631 kilometers. This electric car gets charged from 0 to 80 percent in 21 minutes through a 150 kW charger. At the same time, it takes one hour to charge it through a 50 kW charger.

Features and competition of Hyundai Ioniq 5 car

Hyundai Ioniq 5 car has features like dual integrated 12.3-inch display (infotainment system and driver display), panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charger, ventilated front seats, dual zone climate control and heads-up display. For the safety of passengers, it has been provided with features like six airbags, ABS with EBD, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), 360-degree camera and Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS). In the market it competes with Volvo XC40 Recharge and Kia EV6.
