Brahmastra: Part One was released in 2022 and proved to be a blockbuster at the box office. However, now fans are eagerly waiting for the sequel.
Ranveer Singh has said yes to playing the role of Dev in Brahmastra 2. According to the report of News18 Shosha, the actor has now given his consent to play the much-awaited character in the upcoming film.
The source said, “Ranveer Singh has been finalized to play the role of Dev. He has also signed the contract. The scripting of the second part is still in progress and the film is expected to start filming in 2025.
Currently, Ayaan is busy with War 2 and Ranveer will also start shooting for Baiju Bawra this year. Hence, it is still not clear when Brahmastra 2 will hit the floors.
The source also said, “If everything goes well, Ranveer will start Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Baiju Bawra in mid-2024. While it was decided that Brahmastra 2 would begin shooting in early 2025, it is now being said that Don 3 will go on floors around the same time.
There is every possibility that Ranveer will first shoot Don 3 and then Brahmastra 2. It has already been revealed that Deepika Padukone is playing the role of Shiv’s mother Amrita in the first part.
Interestingly, this will be the first time that two off-screen couples of Bollywood (Ranbir-Alia and Ranveer-Deepika) will come together for a film.
Brahmastra was highly appreciated for its VFX and story. However, people especially made fun of Alia Bhatt’s dialogues.
Brahmastra was one of the blockbuster films of 2022 which earned Rs 431 crore worldwide. Brahmastra did a business of Rs 269.4 crore in India. Ayan Mukerji has already announced Brahmastra Part Two: Dev for December 2026 and Brahmastra Part Three for December 2027.
