New Delhi : Japanese car manufacturing company Honda Motor’s two SUV cars, Honda City Elantium and Amaze Elite Edition, are competing with Maruti cars. Both these cars of the automaker are available for sale in limited numbers. The company has kept only limited units of these for sale. These cars come in manual transmission and continuously variable transmission gearbox options. The new Honda City and Honda Amaze are based on the V grade and VX grade. Both the new cars are available in multiple colors and Enhanced Premium Package.
Design of Honda City Elegant and Amaze Elite
Based on the V trim, the Honda City Elegant Edition offers a unique visual appeal with enhancements like an LED strip, front fender garnishing and a trunk spoiler bearing an ‘Elegant Edition’ badge. The car is also equipped with attractive step lighting, which adds to its overall appeal. Inside the cabin, Honda has introduced extra features like a wireless phone charger, special seat cover and a legroom lamp, which makes it different from the regular City model.

Honda City has a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine, which generates power of 119 bhp and torque of 145 Nm. Six-speed manual and CVT units have been added to it.

The manual transmission option is priced at Rs 12.57 lakh (ex-showroom) and the CVT option is priced at Rs 13.82 lakh (ex-showroom). At the same time, the manual variant of Honda Amaze Elite Edition can be purchased for Rs 9.04 lakh and its CVT variant can be purchased for Rs 9.86 lakh (ex-showroom).
Competition between Honda City Elegant and Amaze Elite
The engine specifications, power and torque in the festive editions of Honda City and Amaze are similar to the standard editions. City and Amaze Elite Edition with Elegant Edition will give tough competition to mid-size, compact sedans like Hyundai Verna, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz available in the Indian market.
