After which the UP government, through District Magistrate Lucknow, had issued an order to all the schools to refund 15% of the fees charged during the financial year 2020-2021. According to the same order, three Catholic schools of Lucknow are now adjusting the fees of the students. At the same time, they are refunding the fees of those students who have left the school after completing their studies. Those schools include St. Francis College, Cathedral Senior Secondary School and La Martiniere College. These schools are adjusting fees by 15% in the last quarter of the academic year. Whereas La Martiniere College in Lucknow has played a leading role in giving refunds. Rev Father Rajesh Vincent Pinto, Principal of St. Francis College, said that we have adjusted the last quarter fees for all students as per the orders of the High Court and the Supreme Court. He further said that the students who have left the school and have not availed the 15% relaxation in fees given in the year 2020-21, should come to the college office during working days to get the refund of 15% fees and submit their mark sheet and A copy of the transfer certificate will have to be shown, after which the check will be received.

Rev Father Alvin Madtha, Principal of St. Francis School, located in Gomti Nagar, said that he has adjusted all the fees paid in the last quarter and thousands of parents have benefited from it. We have done this after the court directed the schools to adjust the additional fees. Parents of many pass-out students have also received checks from the school. Meanwhile, Rev Father Donald D’Souza, spokesperson of the Catholic Diocese of Lucknow, said that the amount will be returned after verification. Students who are no longer in these institutions, but were studying there in 2020-2021 and had paid fees in the year. And have not availed the 15% discount. They can visit the college office on any working day for refund. Let us tell you that last year Allahabad High Court had issued instructions related to fee refund, which was also justified by the Supreme Court. After which the Uttar Pradesh government through the District Magistrate, Lucknow had issued orders to all educational institutions to refund 15% of the fees paid by parents during the financial year 2020-2021. The UP Secondary Education Department passed an order on February 16, 2023, to all district magistrates to comply with the order of the Allahabad High Court.
