Under this, the All India Counciling of Technical Education (AICTE) has asked to reserve two supernumerary seats in all technical colleges from the academic session 2023-24. Under this policy, it has been decided to reserve two super numerical seats for meritorious students. Along with the decision, the gifted child policy has been implemented from the new session 2023. In all the institutes, meritorious students will get a chance to take admission from two super numerical seats.
Admission in B.Tech will be available even if there is a low score in JEE
Under this policy, even after being behind in the merit of JEE Main, under this rule, the admission of talented students can be done in B.Tech. Along with this, admission will also be done in institutes like management. NICTE has said that gifted child policy has been implemented to get admission to talented students. This policy has been brought to connect the talented students who have demonstrated intellectual ability in various subjects along with sports, arts, music, to higher education.
Admission will be available in any course of B.Tech.
Dr. Abhay Jere, Vice President of AICTE told that under this policy admission can be given in any B.Tech course also. In the policy, criteria have been set for talented children in sports, arts, music, intellectual ability and other fields. If such students meet these criteria then they will get admission.
Tuition fees will also be waived
The tuition fees of the youth taking admission in the Gifted Child Policy will be completely waived. Along with this, the work of the institute will also be to make the dreams of these talented students come true. They will be provided training and other facilities from time to time. The expenses of this will also be borne by the institute.

AICTE said that the perceptions and interpretations of what defines talent and genius will differ significantly across cultures. Meritorious and promising children have distinguished themselves in studies. Not all gifted students are high achievers, and not all high achievers are geniuses. Exceptional students can be found in any community, regardless of their cultural, socioeconomic or ethnic background. In this, their talent can be identified and taken forward through this policy.

Meritorious students will get credit points
From the new session, students who have excelled in sports, arts and other subjects will also get academic credit points. This mark will be given on the performance of the students. UGC Chairman Prof. M. Jagadish Kumar has told that many changes are being made to fulfill the objectives of the National Education Policy, 2020. Along with studies, students who achieve excellence in various fields at national and international level will be given credit. This has been done with the aim of promoting sports, science, technology, social work, stage arts, fine arts, tradition, heritage, literature, Indian knowledge tradition etc., so that students can do better in these fields as well. Arts outside the classroom are also included in the evaluation. Nothing has been discarded. Learning outside the classroom, sports, yoga, physical activities, performing arts, handicrafts are also part of the assessment framework.
