Patna News: There is enthusiasm among the people of the capital regarding Patna Metro, but now due to the negligence in the metro construction work, the people of Patna may have to face a lot of trouble in this monsoon. The procrastination of the agency concerned may prove costly. There is a possibility of drowning of many mohallas situated on both sides of the bypass in the monsoon rains if there is no timely and proper blowing. At the same time, the blowing of the drain has been started by the Patna Municipal Corporation itself.

Negligence during the construction work of Metro

About a month ago, during the inspection of New Bypass Drain and Yogipur Drain by Urban Development and Housing Department’s Additional Chief Secretary Arunish Chawla and Municipal Commissioner Animesh Kumar Parashar, it was found that due to the construction work of Metro, a large part of both the drains has influenced. Not only has soil been filled there, but huge hume pipes have been inserted in the drain to make a temporary channel for the water to flow. In many places other heavy construction material like rebar also went into the drain during the construction work, which was very difficult for the Municipal Corporation to clean it out of the drain from its own sources. In view of this, the metro construction agency asked to clean the bypass drain and Yogipur drain and hand it over to the Municipal Corporation by the end of April.

The agency is postponing the work, the Municipal Corporation took the lead.

Despite a week more than the stipulated period, neither the cleaning of the new bypass drain nor the Yogipur drain has been completed. The metro construction agency is postponing it or somewhere it is claiming to start the work by employing only three-four laborers. Seeing this, the municipal corporation itself has started blowing up the bypass drain.
