New Generation Swift Maruti Suzuki has made the global debut of the fourth generation Suzuki Swift at the last edition of Japan Mobility Show in Tokyo this October. This hatchback car has now become available in its domestic market. The fourth generation Swift is inspired by Suzuki’s Z series engine, which is a new 1.2-litre Z12E three-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine. This engine starts a new story of liveliness, with 81 bhp at 5,700 rpm and peak torque of 108 Nm at 4,500 rpm. Along with this, a 48V mild-hybrid setup is also included, which comprises of DC synchronous motor and battery, which gives 3 bhp and 60 Nm of power.

In terms of fuel efficiency, the Japan-spec Swift has shown strong form, with an average consumption of 23.4 kmpl and 24.5 kmpl in hybrid and non-hybrid variants respectively.
