Panchak 2024: In Hindu religion, the right moment and time is observed before doing any work. In astrology, while some auspicious days are considered for doing auspicious work, there are some inauspicious days also. Panchak is also counted among the inauspicious days. This year there will be Panchak on Basant Panchami. It is said that auspicious work should not be done during Panchak. Because the results of the work done in Panchak are not successful. Panchak has started. Panchak has started from 10:02 am on Saturday, 10th February. This will last till 10.44 am on 14th February, during these days you will not be able to do any auspicious work.
Why auspicious work should not be done in Panchak
According to astrology, when the Moon moves in Dhanishtha, Shatabhisha, Purvabhadrapada, Uttarabhadrapada and Revati constellation, it is called Panchak. The Moon takes about 5 days to cross all these Nakshatras, hence these five days have been named Panchak. Panchak occurs after every 27 days, it is considered a very inauspicious time. According to the belief, work like marriage, building a house, housewarming etc. is avoided during Panchak. If you are doing some auspicious work then it is not considered good to do it. One should not travel in the south direction during Panchak. If you travel in the south during this period, the consequences may be bad.
How many types of Panchak are there?
There are many types of Panchak, Agni, Chor, Mrityu, Raj and Rog Panchak. Every Panchak has its own significance, but the Panchak starting from Wednesday and Thursday is not considered inauspicious. Panchak is a combination of five constellations, Shatabhisha, Uttarabhadrapada, Purvabhadrapada, Revati, Purva Bhadrapada and Dhanishtha Nakshatra. When the Moon passes through these five constellations, it is called Panchak.
