There will be no hearing on the petition regarding removal of Arvind Kejriwal from the post of CM.

The Delhi High Court on Thursday refused to hear a PIL seeking removal of Arvind Kejriwal from the post of Chief Minister following his arrest by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in a money laundering case related to excise policy. The High Court said that sometimes national interest has to be given priority over personal interest.

A bench of Acting Chief Justice Manmohan Singh and Justice Manmeet PS Arora said, sometimes national interest has to be kept above personal interest but it is his personal decision. As a court, we have to follow the law. Your solution is not here, somewhere else. You go to the competent authority. The bench said that it had recently dismissed a similar PIL in which Kejriwal had been requested to be removed from the post of Chief Minister and hence it cannot take any different stand.

Counsel for petitioner Vishnu Gupta said that since the court has refused to interfere in the matter, he has been directed to withdraw the petition and he will take his petition before the Lieutenant Governor. The court disposed of the petition by allowing it to withdraw.

Kejriwal gave message from Tihar

Delhi Chief Minister’s wife Sunita Kejriwal said that Arvind Kejriwal has sent a message from Tihar Jail asking all Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLAs to visit their constituencies daily and ensure that people are informed about any problem. Don’t have to face it. In the ‘Digital Briefing’, he said that Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said in his message that even though he is in jail, the two crore people of Delhi are his family and they should not face any problem. Giving the message of Delhi Chief Minister, Sunita said, apart from government work, we will also have to solve their problems. The Chief Minister, arrested in a money laundering case related to the now abolished Delhi Excise Policy, is in judicial custody till April 15.
