A draft has been prepared to increase the pension given to freedom and democracy fighters and their dependents in UP. After the approval of the cabinet, there will be an increase of five thousand rupees per month in pension. It is expected that it will be implemented from January.
There are 25 freedom fighters and 950 dependents in the state, who get a pension of Rs 20176. Similarly, there are 4693 democracy fighters and their 1090 dependents, who are given an honorarium of Rs 20 thousand per month.
In such a situation, after the increase in pension, now the democracy fighters and their dependents will start getting Rs 25 thousand per month. Similarly, freedom fighters and their dependents will start getting Rs 25176. The Political Pension Department has prepared its draft.
Soon it will be placed in the cabinet meeting. After this proposal is passed, it will be implemented. The department is preparing that after taking the survival certificate in the month of November, it should be implemented from January onwards.
Let us tell you that during the proceedings of the Legislative Council on August 9, 2023, SP MLC Rajendra Chaudhary had raised this issue. He had demanded that the honorarium of democracy fighters troubled by inflation should be increased. So that they can live their life in a respectable manner.
MLC had demanded an increase in the honorarium by Rs 30 thousand per month, considering which the government has decided to increase it to Rs 25 thousand. Political Pension Department Minister Dharampal Singh said that the government is considering increasing the honorarium of freedom fighters, democracy fighters and their dependents, a decision on this will be taken soon.
