The new revised classification system consists of five distinct categories: Platinum, Diamond, Gold, Silver and Bronze, which replace the hotel industry’s traditional star ratings of 5-star, 4-star, 3-star, 2-star and one-star classification respectively. Conforms to that prescribed by the Ministry of Tourism. This revised system will simplify the selection process for tourists and encourage higher service standards among hotels. For information and participation in the new classification system, UP Tourism Department has launched a dedicated online portal to apply for the New Hotel Star Classification System with minimum required fee on its official website www.uptourism.gov.in. Uttar Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation (UPSTDC) will be the nodal agency for the implementation of the New Star Hotel Classification System in the state.
