In view of the protests by farmers in Noida and Greater Noida, Gautam Buddha Nagar Police has imposed restrictions under Section 144 on 7 and 8 February. Groups of farmers in Noida and Greater Noida are protesting from December 2023, demanding more compensation and developed plots in exchange for their land acquired by the local development authorities. The protesting farmer groups have called for a Kisan Mahapanchayat on Wednesday and a march to Parliament in the national capital on Thursday to press for their demands. At the same time, the traffic department has informed the public about route diversion on various roads of Dadri, Tilapata, Surajpur, Sirsa, Rampur-Fatehpur and Greater Noida.
