Booking of the new Sonet has started from midnight today on payment of Rs 25,000. Kia unveiled the Sonet facelift SUV at an event held in Delhi last week on 14 December. Kia can announce its price by next month. Kia Sonet pricing is expected to be announced sometime in January 2024, before deliveries begin.

Kia Sonet facelift design

Kia Sonet facelift SUV has come with many changes in its new avatar. These include a new front face with an updated grille, new LED headlights and DRL setup, redesigned bumpers, alloy wheels with at least three different designs to choose from, LED taillights as well as a connected LED light bar at the rear. The biggest highlight is the inclusion of ADAS technology, which is a first in the sub-compact SUV segment. Kia Sonet 2024 facelift variants

Kia Sonet facelift SUV is being offered in seven variants. Powered by both petrol and diesel powertrains, these variants are available with six combinations of engine and transmission units. Some features highlighted by Kia will not be available in the base variant of the SUV. In this variant, halogen units are available instead of LED headlights. It will come with 15-inch steel wheels instead of 16-inch alloys. On the interior, the Sonet base variant will not come with seat ventilation or powered seats for the drivers. It will also get a smaller 4.2-inch display instead of the new 10.2-inch unit introduced in higher trims. Among its variants, HTK and HTK Plus are being introduced with most of the new features introduced in the Sonet facelift SUV. The top-end trims named HTX, HTX+ and GTX+ will be offered with all the features. Kia also has an X-Line variant of the Sonet SUV, which will be the most expensive variant to buy. ADAS technology will be available exclusively in this edition.

Color options in Kia Sonet facelift

The Kia Sonet facelift SUV is available in 11 color options. These include eight single-tone exterior colors called Clear White, Glacier Pearl White, Sparkling Silver, Gravity Grey, Aurora Black Pearl and Intense Red. Kia has also introduced a new Pewter Olive color for the Sonet, which was introduced in the Seltos facelift SUV earlier this year. Kia’s Matte Graphite is reserved exclusively for the X-Line trim. Apart from these eight single-tone colours, Kia will also offer two dual-tone exterior themes in the combination of Intense Red with Aurora Black Pearl Roof and Glacier White Pearl with Aurora Black Pearl Roof.

Engine and transmission in Kia Sonet facelift

Although a lot has changed in the Sonet facelift in terms of looks and features, things remain largely the same under the hood. Kia is offering three engine options with Sonet. It has a 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated petrol, which comes with a 5-speed manual gearbox. It is capable of generating power of 82 bhp and peak torque of 115 Nm. The second petrol engine option is a 1.0-litre turbo unit, mated to a 6-speed iMT or 7-speed DCT transmission. This engine can generate power of 118 bhp and peak torque of 172 Nm. The only diesel engine option is a 1.5-litre unit, which can generate 114 bhp of power and 250 Nm of peak torque. The 6-speed manual gearbox has returned in this unit. 6-speed iMT and 6-speed automatic transmission options are also available with the diesel engine.
