A major change is being made in the process of preparing postmortem report in Bihar. Post mortem reports in all the medical college hospitals and district hospitals of the state will no longer be prepared manually. After the post-mortem, preparations are being made to file the report online. After the implementation of this system, the system of post mortem report will become transparent. There will be no scope for any tampering in this in future. Regarding this, Additional Chief Secretary of the Health Department, Pratyaya Amrit, reviewed it recently with the superintendents and civil surgeons of all the medical college hospitals. He also instructed everyone to take steps in this direction.
Police investigation process will not be affected
Post-mortem of any dead body is conducted by the police in case of accident, assault, snake bite, bullet injury, drowning or any kind of medico-legal case. At present post mortem is done in Medical College Hospital and District Hospitals of Bihar. There is a delay in preparing the post-mortem report and it is prepared after entering it manually on the register. Due to this there is delay in receiving the report. This also affects the police investigation process. Now the Health Department has taken the initiative to make the post-mortem room hi-tech and record the reports online.
There are instructions to conduct post mortem within 24 hours.
Many states of the country have started this system. Bihar has now started work towards making post mortem reports online. It is known that before this, the state government has also given instructions to conduct post-mortem 24 hours in all post-mortem rooms. In such a situation, when the post-mortem will be done within 24 hours, its report will also be filed online at the same time, which will be beneficial in the medico-legal case and police investigation. At the same time, people will not suspect any kind of collusion.
