The scope of reservation will increase in Bihar, CM Nitish Kumar made a big announcement in the assembly.

On Tuesday, the data of economic and social condition of various castes on the basis of caste census was released in both the houses of Bihar Legislature. After which now efforts to increase the scope of reservation have also started. CM Nitish Kumar presented a proposal to increase the scope of reservation in the state during the discussion on the survey report in the Assembly. He indicated to increase the reservation from 50 percent to 65 percent. This proposal has been made by Nitish Kumar mainly for Backward Classes (OBC) and Extremely Backward Classes (EBC). If 10 percent reservation of EWS is also added to this 65 percent, then it has been proposed to increase the percentage of reservation in the state to 75 percent.

How much reservation will increase in which category?

According to this proposal to increase the scope of reservation, the 16 percent reservation currently available to Scheduled Castes (SC) will be increased to 20 percent. Whereas the 1 percent reservation given to Scheduled Tribes (ST) will be increased to 2 percent. At the same time, 43 percent reservation can be given to Extremely Backward Class (EBC) and Other Backward Class (OBC) together. Along with this, 10 percent reservation will be for EWS. BJP has also supported this proposal put forward by CM Nitish Kumar.
