Lucknow News: The Yogi Adityanath government has set new targets to increase the scope of greenery in Uttar Pradesh. The state government will achieve this goal through all departments and public participation. To keep UP green, the Yogi government has decided to plant 35 crore saplings.
Governor Anandiben Patel will plant saplings in Mathura
Out of this, 30 crore saplings will be planted today on Saturday. Apart from this, the remaining five crore saplings will be planted on August 15 on the occasion of Independence Day. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will start the campaign with plantation in western Uttar Pradesh. They will plant saplings in Muzaffarnagar’s Shukrtal and Bijnor. On the other hand, Governor Anandiben Patel will plant saplings in Mathura.

Target to increase green area up to 15 percent
The Yogi Adityanath government has also set a target of increasing the green cover of Uttar Pradesh from 9 to 15 per cent by 2026-27. The government has also called public cooperation necessary for this. In this episode, the ministers of the Yogi government will also plant saplings in different districts on Saturday. Preparations for this have been completed.

The Yogi Adityanath government has prepared a blueprint to achieve this goal with everyone’s cooperation. A target has been given to plant 35 crore saplings in the state, 14 crore for Forest, Environment and Climate Change, 12.59 crore for Rural Development Department, 2.50 crore for Agriculture, 1.55 crore for Horticulture Department, 1.28 crore for Panchayati Raj, 1.06 crore for Revenue and 35 lakh for Urban Development.
Along with this, 18 lakh for higher education, 14 lakh for silk, 13 lakh each for public works, railways and water power, 12 lakh for basic education, 11 lakh for health department, 9 lakh for industry, eight lakh each for industrial development and secondary education department, seven lakh each for home-animal husbandry, six lakh each for energy and cooperative, five lakh each for housing development, defense and technical education, three lakh saplings each for labor and transport department. The target has been given.
Saplings will also be planted in 18 divisions, maximum in Lucknow division
Under the campaign, saplings will also be planted in all the 18 mandals. Everyone’s goal has been set. Lucknow division has been given the target of planting maximum number of saplings. Four crore saplings will be planted in Lucknow division.
Along with this, 3.13 crore in Kanpur division, 2.76 crore in Chitrakoot, 2.58 crore in Jhansi, 2.27 crore in Mirzapur, 2.20 crore in Ayodhya, 1.95 crore in Devipatan, 1.89 crore in Prayagraj, 1.87 crore in Bareilly, 1.78 crore in Varanasi, 1.76 crore in Moradabad, 1. 74 crore, 1.43 crore in Gorakhpur, 1.34 crore in Azamgarh, 1.20 crore in Aligarh, 1.14 crore in Meerut division, 1.08 crore in Basti and 88 lakh saplings will be planted in Saharanpur division.
According to the decision of the state government, geo-tagging of plantation sites will also be done. On the other hand, 12.60 crore saplings will be planted by the Forest Department and about 22.40 crore saplings by other departments in all the mandals.
These lands were selected for plantation
The Yogi government has instructed the officers that tree plantation should be done everywhere, so that the entire state becomes green. Forest land, village panchayat and community land, around expressways and canals, development authority industrial complex land, defense-railway land, medical institute-educational institute land, other state land, taking cooperation of farmers, their land, UP should be made green by planting saplings in private premises on behalf of citizens.
Minister of Yogi government will participate in the plantation program
Ministers of the Yogi government will participate in the plantation program to be held on Saturday in different districts. Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya will be present in Prayagraj and Kaushambi, Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak in Rae Bareli and Barabanki, Cabinet Minister Swatantra Dev Singh and Forest-Environment Minister Arun Saxena in Bijnor and Muzaffarnagar.
Along with this, Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi will participate in the plantation program in Ayodhya and Amethi, Finance Minister Suresh Khanna in Lucknow and Gorakhpur, Cabinet Minister Baby Rani Maurya in Jhansi and Jalaun, Minister of State for Forest and Environment KP Malik in Saharanpur. Apart from this, other ministers will also plant saplings in different districts.
