Lucknow : The road has been carved in Ashiana of state capital Lucknow for one year. Due to which the passengers are facing trouble every day. On one side of the road from Smriti Upvan intersection to Khazana Bazar intersection, the work of laying sewer pipe is going on. Due to which the road gets jammed, and the traffic gets diverted to the other side. This road is the main road connecting the three sectors of Ashiana, K, M, J and VIP Road. It is a densely populated area of about fifty thousand inhabitants, and from here more than thirty thousand commuters travel every day. Let us tell you that this road comes under the Public Works Department and this work of laying sewer pipeline is being done by a private company hired by Jal Nigam.

Locals forced to inhale dusty polluted air

The residents of this place say that jam is a daily thing here, apart from this, due to lack of traffic police, incidents like accidents and road rage also keep happening here. City dwellers also keep complaining about pollution due to dust. Locals said that due to Monday’s rain, the road covered with mud has become slippery. Due to which many two-wheelers are slipping, and this can also lead to a big accident. Dharmendra Singh, a local shopkeeper, said that the work is hanging in the balance due to no coordination between the private company, Jal Nigam and the public works construction. Two-wheeler commuters had a fight after an accident a week ago.

Jal Nigam engineer Mahesh Gautam said – the work will be completed soon

Sarvendra Srivastava, a resident here, said that we were very happy that the problem of waterlogging would be solved by this work. Whereas instead we have to bear the brunt of the dust and dirt which harms our breathing. On the other hand, Jal Nigam’s executive engineer Mahesh Gautam said that the existing underground mobile cables and power lines were creating hurdles in laying the pipeline, so the work was stalled for four months. However, the problem has been resolved as the authorities have shifted the lines. He further said that I have ordered the private company to complete the work at the earliest.
