The market in Chatra was buzzing with the festival of lights, Diwali. All the blocks of the district including Chatra will be illuminated with the light of lamps. There has been a lot of sale of earthen lamps this year. Chinese items are also sold well. There has been good sale of bombs and crackers. There was a crowd of buyers in the shops till night. People purchased home decoration items, firecrackers, lamps, candles etc. Also purchased idols of Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha. There was crowd in sweet shops also throughout the day. In view of the puja, different varieties of sweets are available in the shops. Apart from this, banana and apple were also purchased in the fruit shop. Chatra There are many firecracker shops decorated in the market, where everyone from children to adults are buying firecrackers. There is happiness and enthusiasm in the district regarding Diwali. Especially the children are very excited. Even on Saturday, traffic jam situation persisted due to crowd. Entry of big vehicles remained closed from Kesari Chowk to Old Petrol Pump. However, the police seemed ready to clear the jam.

Rangoli competition in DPS, winning participants rewarded

Many competitions were organized on the occasion of Diwali on Saturday at Delhi Public School Pitiz, Itkhori. Children from classes 1 to 9 from Birsa Munda House, Sido-Kanhu House, Mahatma Gandhi House, Subhash Chandra House groups took part in the Rangoli Making Competition. The students securing first, second and third positions were awarded the same. In the competition, all the students unleashed their imagination and made beautiful rangoli. On the occasion of closing of the competition, Principal Uni K Krishnan threw light on the ancient civilization culture and modern civilization culture among the students.

Rangoli and lamp decoration competition in Goff Frey School

Chatra. Deepotsav was celebrated at God Frey School on Saturday. On this occasion, many students made rangoli and presented lamp decorations. Attractive rangoli was made in various rooms and premises of the school. The students were awarded by the school management. Ansh Kumar, Ujjwal Kumar, Anurag Kumar, Sarthak Kesari from class 3, Misty Kumari from class 4, Shrushti Singh, Ananya Kumari, Sifa Parveen, Rajkumar from class 5, Evan Sahay, Roshan Kumar from class 6, Priyanshi from class 7 participated in the competition. Kumari, Srishti Kumari, Aarav Apoorva, Ashish Kumar, Mo Imdad, Krish Kumar, Atifa Masuk, Amoli Kumari, Sania Parveen and Asfi Zoya, Ragini Gupta, Aastha Kumari and Riya Kumari from class 9th performed better. Principal Neeraj Kumar told the students about the importance of Diwali. He said that such competitions enhance the creative and artistic talent of children. Also, children get knowledge of their civilization and culture. School teachers and teachers were present on the occasion.
