Siwan. On Wednesday, by conducting a raid in Khurmabad locality of Mufassil police station, the police has busted a gang that takes money for marrying minor girls to boys from other states. The police are interrogating the minor girl, the groom, the groom’s family and the middlemen who arranged the marriage.
2 lakh rupees were given to get married
It is said that Hari Lal of Shahpur village of Rajasthan’s Jaipur had come to Siwan to get his two sons Mukesh and Balmukund married 7 days in advance by reserving two private vehicles. Harilal told that he had given Rs 2 lakh to Ram Avtar and Ashok of his own village for the marriage of his children. He told that he had talked to two girls from Khurmabad locality of the city to get them married. Three days ago, one of his sons, Balmukund, was married to a minor girl named Saroj in Agu Chhapra locality of Mufassil police station. He told that today he was arranging the marriage of his second son Mukesh when the police arrested him.

Here, the minor girl who was married. The girl’s mother told him that Janaki Devi, a woman from Khurmabad locality, had arranged the marriage of her daughter. He told that today I came to know that he has sold my daughter for two lakh rupees. The girl also told that she was being forced to marry. It is said that there are some women active in Khurmabad locality who get boys from other states married to girls from Siwan by taking money. Police have also seized two vehicles with Rajasthan number and brought them to the police station.
The matter of marrying a minor girl came to light
Police station head Arvind Kumar said that the raid was conducted by the police regarding the matter of marrying a minor girl. The girl and boy and other family members have been brought to the police station for questioning. The police is also investigating whether it is not the case that the girls were being forced to get married by taking money.
