This message seemed to be promoting the Modi government at the Centre, which the Election Commission has given instructions to stop immediately. On behalf of the Election Commission, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology i.e. MeitY has been asked to ban such messages with immediate effect so that people do not receive these messages on WhatsApp.

What was said by the Election Commission

The Election Commission said that it has come to its notice that even after the implementation of the code of conduct in the country, messages are being sent to people on WhatsApp. On the instructions of the Commission, a reply was also given by MeitY. It was said from his side that the work of sending such messages had been done earlier. It is possible that there may have been a delay in the message reaching some people and they are receiving this message now.
