During this, traffic on it was closed for several days. About 15,000 vehicles travel daily on the Ambedkar bridge connecting Hathi Ghat to Etmaduddaula area in Agra. The foundation stone of the 650 meter long bridge was laid on 9 October 2008 by the then Chief Minister Mayawati. Rajya Setu Nigam had prepared it at a cost of 30 crores. In 2010, this bridge was opened for the common people.

The gap in the middle of the girder was reduced and the potholes on the bridge were completely filled.
