Netflix’s film The Archies has been in the headlines since its announcement because not one but three star kids are being launched in this film. Agastya Nanda, grandson of megastar Amitabh Bachchan, Suhana Khan, daughter of Bollywood’s King Khan and Khushi Kapoor, daughter of late superstar Sridevi, have been launched in this film. The film has started streaming from today. The story of this film is based on the characters of the famous comics Archies of the 90s. The look of the characters, choreography and set design are absolutely perfect, but the story has remained very simple. In the film, the issue related to the environment is an important axis of the story, but except a few scenes, the emotional attachment of the characters towards the environment has not been translated on the screen in the way that the story required. The characters have also been written half-baked, due to which the acting of the group of young actors has not been effective. Overall, the film has heart, but its soul is missing.
The story swings between love triangle and environmental protection.
The story of this film based on the characters of Archies comic book begins with Archie (Agastya Nanda), who is narrating the history of Riverdale, situated in a fictional hill station in India. Along with him, his friends Betty (Khushi Kapoor), Jughead (Mihir), Reggie (Vedang), Ethel (Aditi Dot), Dilton (Yuvraj Menda), who is also a member of a band, also live there. Meanwhile, his old friend Veronica (Suhana Khan) returns from London. Veronica and Betty are very good friends and both like Archie and Archie also likes both of them. However, the basic story of the film is not a love triangle but environmental protection. Green Park is the heart of the city of Riverdale and the spirits of all these friends reside in it and its existence is in danger. Veronica’s businessman father wants to build a hotel there, but these friends want to save Green Park. Will they be able to save it? Will Veronica be able to fight this battle against her father? This is the story ahead.
Advantages and disadvantages of the film
Based on the characters of popular comics, this story is set in the 60s. Which has been given the treatment of high school musical drama. The treatment of the film is fresh, but the main premise of the film i.e. the story has remained average. Although the film shows the importance of friendship and friendship with books, the entire story has not become that appealing. The story of the film oscillates between love triangle and green park but the story takes time to come to the core issue. In the second part the story slows down and at this point the story comes to an end. That seems more convenient. There was a need for a better climax film. The characters of the film also seem incomplete. Archie likes both Betty and Veronica. Had to focus a little more on this. Betty’s character has also remained half-baked.
How is the cinematography of the film?
The cinematography of the film must be praised. He has brought that period on screen very beautifully. Along with this, this film is on the almost forgotten Anglo-Indian community in present-day cinema. Attention has been paid to every minute detail of their culture, including food, fashion and spoken language. The look of the film is also absolutely perfect. Most of the communication is in English. The music of the film suits the story and does justice to it.
Vedang Raina has more appeal in acting than star kids
Talking about acting, this is the launching film of all the young actors of this film except Mihir Ahuja. The hard work of all the actors is visible. Along with acting, she has also worked in dancing and skating. Everyone has tried well for the first film, but among these popular star kids, Vedang Raina leaves a mark with his acting. The rest of the supporting cast has also done justice to their respective roles.
