Telecom companies are going to increase your mobile bill again! Jio users may get relief

Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel, Vi Telecom Tariff Hike: India’s two big telecom companies – Airtel and Vi (Vodafone Idea) have again demanded to increase the mobile tariff, it is not yet clear how much the increase will be. Meanwhile, a statement has come from Jio that it is not in favor of increasing the tariff rate.

Due to rising inflation, the problems of the people are going to increase further. Two big telecom companies of the country are preparing to increase the prices of mobile tariffs once again. According to a report in Economic Times, Airtel and Vi (Vodafone Idea) want the average revenue per user (ARPU) to increase. But the country’s largest telecom giant Reliance Jio is not in favor of this suggestion.

Jio says that it does not accept the increase in tariff. Jio believes that many people in the country are currently limited to 2G. In such a situation, if mobile tariffs are increased further, it will be more difficult to attract these customers towards 5G. Let us tell you that around 25 crore people still use 2G SIM across the country.

Bharti Airtel CEO Gopal Vittal said, we want greater financial health for the industry because there is a lot of capital expenditure in it, hence increase in ARPU is necessary. According to him, ARPU should increase from Rs 200 to Rs 300. Let us tell you that Airtel is the second largest telecom company in the country, which has more than 24 crore customers.

What is the average revenue per user?

Average Revenue per User is a means of assessing the financial health of any telecom company. Through this we can know whether the company is in profit or in loss. If we talk about ARPU of big telecom companies of the country, then Bharti Airtel is in the best position. Airtel’s ARPU was recorded at Rs 203 in this quarter. At the same time, Jio’s ARPU stopped at Rs 181.7 in this quarter. Vi (Vodafone Idea) is said to be in the worst condition among the big telecom companies, which recorded an ARPU of only Rs 142 in this quarter.

Jio wants to empower 2G users digitally

Reliance Jio President Mathew Oommen says that Jio will not increase the tariff in its plan. The company’s entire focus is on those customers who want to move beyond 2G and move towards data plans. He said that this is the aim of Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani and Reliance Jio Chairman Akash Ambani. He further said that there are still 20 crore such customers in the country who use 2G and it is the responsibility of the telecom industry to empower them digitally.
