Team India’s dominance continues in Cricket World Cup 2023. India registered a big victory over Netherlands in the last league match. Batting first at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Bengaluru, India scored 410 runs. Later, they gave a Diwali gift to the countrymen by defeating Netherlands by 160 runs.
Captain Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul, all the top five batsmen crossed the 50 mark. Shreyas and Rahul also completed their centuries. Both of them made a great partnership of more than 200 runs for the fourth wicket.
Openers Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill made an opening partnership of 100 runs for the team. Virat Kohli was out after scoring 51 runs and missed breaking Sachin’s record of ODI centuries. He also did wonders with the ball and took one wicket in his name.
After almost nine years, Virat took an ODI wicket. His wife Anushka Sharma, who was present in the stadium, jumped with joy at his success. Not only Virat, Rohit Sharma also bowled and took one wicket. Suryakumar Yadav and Shubman Gill also bowled. India used nine bowlers today.
For India, Mohammad Siraj, Jasprit Bumrah, Kuldeep Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja took two wickets each. Virat and Rohit got one success each. Team India will now face New Zealand in the first semi-final of the World Cup on 15th November. This match will be played in the historic Eden Gardens of Mumbai.
