Teacher Recruitment: It is mandatory to give minimum 40 percent marks in interview, Education Service Selection Commission rules released

Lucknow : If those applying for teacher recruitment in Uttar Pradesh pass the written examination and are called for interview, then the interview board will have to give minimum 40 percent marks. Not only this, only a maximum of 90 percent marks can be given to any candidate in the interview. The state government has issued a notification on the rules of Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPSESC). Teachers will be recruited on this basis. A government statement said that ‘Under the rules, it is mentioned that for the recruitment process of teachers and instructors, it will be mandatory for the candidates invited for interview on the basis of written examination to give minimum 40 percent marks.’ “However, they can score a maximum of 90 per cent marks in the interview,” . The statement said the state government has “established the commission to ensure fair and transparent selection of qualified and competent teachers and trainers in the state”. “This Commission will conduct examination for recruitment of instructors of basic, secondary and higher education as well as vocational education and teachers of aided minority colleges in the State. “Candidates successful in the written examination will have to appear for interview at a board on one of the days The number of candidates appearing and the number of boards to be conducted on each day will be decided by the Examination Committee as per requirement.

This is how merit will be decided if marks are equal

The number of candidates called for interview from among the candidates successful in the written examination by Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPSESC) will be 3 to 5 times the number of vacancies (as deemed appropriate by the Commission). All candidates who obtain the final marks (cutoff) will be invited for interview. It also says that for the posts of teacher or instructor, where interview is necessary, the Commission will release a merit list by combining the marks obtained in the written examination and interview. In cases where only written examination is conducted, the Commission will prepare a merit list panel on the basis of marks obtained in written examination only. “If the qualification of more than one candidate is the same, the first priority will be the marks obtained in the written examination. If marks in written examination are equal then marks obtained in interview will be considered. If both the marks are equal, then the maximum percentage of eligibility (JRF, NET and PhD) will be considered. And if they are still equal, then postgraduate marks will be considered finally.
