TATA signs agreement with Shell India for charging station

TATA Passenger Electric Mobility (TPEM) has tied up with Shell India Markets to set up public charging stations across the country.

The location of the charging station will be decided according to the data of Tata EV.

Tata Motors unit TPEM said in a statement on Thursday that the collaboration will leverage Shell’s extensive fuel station network and data collected from more than 1.4 lakh Tata EVs on Indian roads. On the basis of this data, it will be decided at which places charging stations need to be installed.

Strategy to promote EV

Balaje Rajan, Chief Strategy Officer, TPEM, said, “Through this partnership we aim to leverage the existing charging infrastructure. “This is important to make EVs common in the country, especially as the customer base continues to grow.”

Sanjay Varke, Director, Shell India Markets, said the company is committed to redefining the EV charging experience by offering integrated solutions that prioritize convenience, safety and environment-friendliness.
