Tata Motors to introduce electric versions of Punch, Nexon and Harrier, Curvv EV in 2024

New Delhi : India’s domestic automaker Tata Motors is working fast on plans to launch electric vehicles aggressively in the coming days. The carmaker has confirmed that it will launch around four electric vehicles by the first quarter of 2024. Three out of these four electric vehicles will be launched by the end of this year. These models also include the facelift model of the Tata Nexon EV, which is currently the best selling electric car in India. After this, three brand new electric vehicle models are also lined up to be launched in India soon.

Harrier EV was showcased at Auto Expo 2023

Tata Motors has confirmed that the next electric vehicles from India’s largest EV maker will be the Punch EV, Harrier EV and Curve EV. Tata Motors showcased the Harrier EV earlier this year at the Auto Expo 2023 held in Greater Noida. It also showcased the Curve EV concept and its ICE model during the event. The Punch EV car will be based on the smallest SUV from the manufacturer. When launched, it will also become India’s smallest electric SUV.

Tata Motors and JLR have big plans

Tata Motors on Tuesday confirmed its upcoming electric vehicle lineup during its 58th Annual General Meeting (AGM). Tata Motors Chairman N Chandrasekaran said that he expects half of the company’s vehicles to be electric soon. Tata Motors India and Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) have extensive plans for electric vehicles. We have already launched many products and then we have new upgraded version of Nexon which can be launched any time now.

JLR to make green vehicles by the end of 2030

British luxury car maker Jaguar Land Rover, owned by Tata Motors, has also set a target of making 65 per cent of its vehicles green by the end of 2030. Chandrasekaran said JLR will take orders for the all-electric Range Rover and Range Rover Sports later this year. Then, we will launch a series of new Jaguar models for all-electric vehicles by the end of next year and early 2025.

Tata Harrier will come with V2L feature

Tata has not shared too many details about the Harrier EV except that it will come with V2L feature. Tata Curvavi EV can be called Tata Fresh. The car will be based on the manufacturer’s Gen2 powertrain and will run up to 500 kilometers on a single charge. Tata’s best-selling electric car Nexon EV has been seen several times during testing on the roads before its launch. The only model that hasn’t been showcased yet by the carmaker is the Tata Punche EV. The carmaker has recently launched the CNG model of the small SUV.

How will be Tata Nexon

Tata Nexon is offered in the electric version by the company. According to media reports, its facelift can also be brought soon. Its testing is currently being done by the company. It has been seen many times during testing. According to media reports, some of the features like new and better headlights, LED DRL, camera on front bumper, camera on ORVM, 360 degree camera, 10.25 inch infotainment system can be given in it. The company also plans to bring a facelift of its IC engine variant.

Tata Punch Competition

In the Indian car market, the Tata Punch CNG variant competes with the Citroen C3, Maruti Suzuki Ignis, Nissan Magnite and the Renault Kiger. However, the direct competition of the Punch with the CNG powertrain is the CNG variant of the recently launched Hyundai Xtor.

Let us tell you that Tata Motors has recently launched the CNG version of Punch along with Tiago and Tigor. Similar to Tata Motors’ Altroz ​​CNG, the Tata Punch gets additional features in the CNG variant as compared to the petrol variant. It includes six airbags, projector headlamps, 16-inch alloy wheels, automatic climate control system, seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system and electric sunroof.
