Tata Altroz ​​iCNG mileage revealed, competes with Baleno and Glanza

Tata Motors Hyundai launched the Altroz ​​iCNG in early May this year at an introductory price of Rs 7.55 lakh (ex-showroom). However, the carmaker did not release any mileage figures for the CNG variant of the Altroz ​​at the time of launch. But now the company has officially revealed the mileage of Altroz ​​CNG.

1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine in Altroz ​​CNG

The Altroz ​​CNG is powered by a 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine that produces 85 Bhp and 114 Nm of peak torque. With the help of CNG, this unit produces 73 Bhp and 103 Nm of peak torque. The CNG variants of the premium hatch are exclusively offered with a 6-speed manual gearbox.

Competition with Maruti Baleno and Toyota Glanza

Altroz’s rivals like Maruti Baleno and Toyota Glanza also offer CNG variants. Both the models are powered by the same 1.2-litre engine that produces 77 Bhp and 98.5 Nm of torque in the CNG variant. When it comes to efficiency, the Altroz ​​CNG claims an efficiency of 26.2 km/kg (ARAI) which is quite low as compared to its rivals which claim an efficiency of 30.61 km/kg.

Atronz CNG is available in six variants

The Atronz CNG is available in six variants – XE, XM+, XM+ (S), XZ, XZ+ (S) and XZ+ O (S). The CNG variant of the premium hatchback gets features like automatic climate control, keyless entry, touchscreen infotainment system, reverse parking camera and electric sunroof.

Altroz ​​CNG can be started directly in CNG mode

It also comes with Tata’s patented dual-cylinder set-up for the CNG tanks which gives the Altroz ​​a decent boot space of 210 litres. Also, unlike CNG models from other brands, the Altroz ​​CNG can be directly started in CNG mode.
