Suvendu Adhikari: Subhendu Adhikari filed RTI application in the case of building collapse in Gardenreach.

BJP leader in West Bengal Shubhendu Adhikari (Suvendu Adhikari) has sought information by filing an application under the Right to Information (RTI) Act in the case of collapse of an illegally constructed building in Kolkata. A five-storey building in Gardenreach area collapsed early Monday, killing at least nine people and injuring several others. Leader of Opposition Subhendu Adhikari alleged that after the Garden Reach accident, it has come to light that Kolkata Municipal Corporation was not prepared for the situation. He wrote on ‘X’ that being a responsible leader of the opposition, he has started gathering information regarding the process of approving the building plan, rejecting it, issuing completion certificate, identifying and demolishing illegal buildings etc.

Data will help in assessing the threat posed by illegal buildings

Mr Adhikari said the data would help them assess the threat posed by illegal buildings, which are constructed without permission. In the RTI application filed before the State Public Information Officer, information has been sought about the number of applications submitted for approval of schemes between January 1, 2010 to March 18, 2024, the number of approved and rejected applications etc.

Narendra Modi: Narendra Modi said, ‘Women power’ will play an important role in the destruction of Trinamool Congress in Bengal.
