Suspense of politics continues in Bihar, budget session will have a stormy start

Patna. Today is the floor test of Nitish government in the state. There has been intense political turmoil in the state regarding this for the last few days. BJP, RJD, JDU, Congress, Left and HAM party have made strong fortifications of their respective MLAs. Congress MLAs camping in Hyderabad reached Patna on Sunday. All the MLAs reached Tejashwi Yadav’s residence directly from the airport. At the same time, all the BJP MLAs also reached Patna from Gaya. A dinner was arranged for him at the residence of Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha. Earlier, the meeting of JDU MLAs at the residence of Minister Vijay Chaudhary lasted for about two hours. After the meeting, Vijay Chaudhary said that the government will achieve majority in any case. He said that the two or three MLAs who have not come have duly informed the party. The first thing on Monday will be the Governor’s address. Then there will be a no-confidence motion against the Assembly Speaker.

Budget session will be full of chaos

The budget session of Bihar Legislature is starting from Monday. This session is likely to be quite turbulent. All the parties have issued a whip to their members to remain present in the House during this proceeding. It is known that after the withdrawal of the Grand Alliance government and the formation of the new NDA government, a political tug of war is going on in the state. The government has also given a resolution to the Assembly Secretariat to remove the current Speaker Avadh Bihari Chaudhary. At the same time, the Assembly Secretariat has decided the proceedings of the first day of the budget session on 12 February. The proceedings will begin with the address of current president Avadh Bihari Chaudhary. Then Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar will address the members of both the houses (Assembly and Legislative Council) in the Central Hall.

Our proposal will be passed in any case: Vijay Chaudhary

Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary said that naturally our number is 128. Therefore, our proposal will be passed by the Assembly in any case, which means the Speaker will step down from his post. Then the Vice President will place the next agenda of the government’s trust vote before the House. Then the Chief Ministers from both sides will present proposals. Leaders of various parties including the opposition party will speak on this. Then the government will answer and then voting will take place on it.

Samrat Chaudhary will present the economic survey of the year 2023-24

On the first day of the budget session, state finance cum deputy CM Samrat Chaudhary will present the economic survey for the year 2023-24. This report will reveal details of the development in the social and economic sectors of the state. There are a total of 14 chapters in the Economic Survey for the year 2023-24.

Political activities remained intense throughout the day

Before the budget session of the Legislature, a meeting of Legislature members from almost all parties was held on Sunday. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and other party leaders addressed the meeting of JDU legislature members at the residence of Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary. During this, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said that we will easily achieve majority. There is nothing to worry about this. After this meeting, Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary told the journalists that our strength is 128. He said that all the MLAs who have not been able to reach due to unavoidable reasons will reach by Monday morning. However, according to information received from sources, four out of 45 JDU MLAs did not attend this meeting. Among these, the names of Bima Bharti, Dr. Sanjeev, Sudarshan and Dilip Rai are prominently included.

BJP MLA from Bodhgaya reached Patna

On Sunday, all 78 BJP MLAs reached the residence of Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha by bus from Bodh Gaya on Sunday evening. After this, there was a discussion in the BJP Legislative Party meeting regarding the budget session starting on Monday. In this, BJP said that NDA is completely united with the strength of 128 in the Assembly.

Congress MLA reached Patna from Hyderabad

All 16 Congress MLAs from Hyderabad reached Patna late on Sunday evening. Everyone will stay at Tejashwi Yadav’s residence. From there all of them will be taken to the Legislature complex on Monday morning. Outside Tejashwi Yadav’s residence, State Congress President Akhilesh Singh said that first of all the NDA alliance should show the number of 122 members. Only after that the claim for removal of the Assembly Speaker should be made. He said that no one from anyone’s group is going anywhere.

The ruling party should first read the decisions of the Supreme Court: Manoj Jha

Earlier, in the press conference, Rajya Sabha MP Manoj Jha advised the ruling party and all the parties concerned to read the example of the Supreme Court decisions related to the removal of the Assembly Speaker. According to Jha, this example is the decision of the Supreme Court in the context of Arunachal and Maharashtra, in which it has been said that to remove the Speaker of the Assembly, there should be a majority in the total strength of the House (majority of all the members of the Assembly). According to these decisions, at least 122 members will be required to remove the Assembly Speaker in Bihar.
