Supreme Court: Supreme Court lifts ban on recruitment process, 12000 teachers will be appointed soon

The Supreme Court has lifted the ban on the 2022 primary recruitment process. Supreme Court Said that the state can continue the teacher recruitment process. The Supreme Court has given the green signal on Monday. The Supreme Court has lifted the ban on panel publication in the preliminary recruitment case. Due to this, 11 thousand 765 people will not face any problem in getting employment. The Board of Primary Education had already told that they have completed all the preparations for the recruitment process. However, the primary job candidates were worried about the complications arising from the appointment by the court.

Notification was given for the appointment of 12,000 teachers

Notification for the recruitment process for the appointment of 12,000 teachers was issued in September 2022. According to the first notification, those taking D.El.Ed training will also be able to take part in the recruitment. A case was filed in the High Court against the board’s decision. In September 2022, Justice Abhijit Gangopadhyay upheld the board’s decision. On September 29 of the same year, the Primary Education Board had issued a notification for the recruitment of teachers in primary schools.

To become a teacher you will have to complete training

In April 2023, a division bench of the then High Court comprising Justice Subrata Talukdar and Justice Supratim Bhattacharya had rejected the Board’s notice. On December 22, 2020, the state education department notified that as per the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) rules, minimum education and training is required to become a teacher. On this argument, the bench of two judges said that the candidates undergoing training cannot take part in the recruitment process. To become a teacher one has to complete training.

Case filed in Supreme Court against the decision

A case was filed in the Supreme Court against that decision. On July 28, 2023, the bench of Justice Hima Kohli and Justice Rajesh Bindal said that the board cannot publish any merit list until the court orders. Since then, the hearing of the case has been postponed several times. On January 22, the Supreme Court directed the Board of Primary Education to present its draft panel in the court as to how many posts are vacant and how many people have been considered eligible.

Supreme Court lifts ban on recruitment process

According to the Board of Primary Education, there are 11,765 vacancies for the post of primary teachers. The state administration is also considering making appointments soon by publishing the panel. After this, on Monday, the Supreme Court lifted the ban on the recruitment process. Said, the board can continue the recruitment process. Job seeker Hemant Bera said that this order of the Supreme Court has removed the legal complications in the appointment process. As a result, the board will be able to start the new recruitment process.
